About Me

Heya! My name’s Jen and I live up there ^ in Tallinn, Estonia. Not actually in one of the medieval fortresses, but I won’t stop you from picturing me rapunzel (verb), hair gracefully sweeping the floor, calling out to my suitors. Just another day really.

Fairy-tale over: My name is Jen. From Dallas, Texas. Behavioral Science/International Development degree from the University of Kansas (class of 2012 hoorah)…and the only natural next step from the Midwest was to Estonia. Well, natural for me at least.

For the next year, I will be an Entwine Global Jewish Service Corp Fellow. This is a year-long, professional opportunity for recent college graduates and young professionals to make a difference overseas. Although I’m sure my job description will be fluid and ever-changing as I respond to the needs of the community, my focus will be on creating educational programming for Baltic youth. Baltic meaning Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. #NotRussia. I have to clarify this often, so now it’s a trending hashtag. Err, maybe trending is a relative term?

A little about me: I’m crazy in love.

…with cities I’ve never been to and people I’ve never met. Travel junkie extraordinaire. Maps + me = BFF4L. Global citizen, outdoor adventure enthusiast, and prisoner of the latte. I’m Type A about not being Type A, I could wander through the streets and through internet browsers all day. Although not simultaneously. I’ve wanted about 832 careers in my 22-years of life, I pretty much love all that is good about the world — trees and sunsets/sunrises especially. I am SUPER excited about my year in Estonia and cannot wait to share my journey with you!

I will be chronicling my adventures abroad in this blog. Please join me, and as they say in Estonian, “tere tulemast!” Welcome!

Disclaimer: I do not have blueberries for eyes. They’re just blue.
